- The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team will wrap up the 2009-2010 season at the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 18-20 in Annapolis, Md. Holy Cross is looking to improve on its eighth place performance a year ago.
- At the 2009 Championship, senior Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.) finished 10th in the 100 breast and broke her own school record with a time of 1:05.47. Gousman traditionally swims well at the Patriot League Championship, as her four fastest times in the 100 breast have been in the semifinals and finals at the Championship. Gousman's top three times in the 200 breast have also come at the Patriot League Championship, as she recorded her personal-best time of 2:25.60 at the 2008 Championship. Gousman also recorded a personal-best time in the 200 IM (2:12.19) in 2008.
- Gousman and fellow senior Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) have shown their senior leadership this season. Together, the duo has swam team-best times in seven events for the Crusaders. Carrazza leads the Crusaders in the sprint free events, recording team-best times in the 50 free (25.11), 100 free (54.62), 200 free (1:59.87) and 200 IM (2:14.65). Gousman has recorded top times in the 50 breast (32.03), 100 breast (1:07.48) and 200 breast (2:27.47).
- Entering this weekend's Championship, Gousman ranks 10th in the 100 breast on the Patriot League performance list with a time of 1:07.48, 13th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.83 and 15th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.30. Junior Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) ranks 15th in the 100 back with a time of 59.97 seconds, while sophomore Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) is 21st in the 200 fly with a time of 2:12.24. On the three meter board, senior Rachael Martinez (Chelmsford, Mass.) ranks third with a score of 251.93 and ranks eighth on the one meter board with a score of 222.36.
