Crusaders Wrap Up Regular Season, Prepare For Patriot League Championship

  • The Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team will conclude the 2009-2010 season at the Patriot League Championship on Feb. 18-20 in Annapolis, Md.
  • Last weekend, Holy Cross won 10 events as it defeated Providence, 170-127 in the last regular season meet of the year. Seniors Maggie Gousman (Fanwood, N.J.), Alisha Carrazza (Boonton Township, N.J.) and Rachael Martinez (Chelmsford, Mass.) each won an event as the Crusaders celebrated senior day prior to the start of the meet. Freshman Kristen Desrosiers (Gorham, Maine) swam a season-best time of 2:02.49 in the 200 free.
  • Gousman ranks 10th in the 100 breast on the Patriot League performance list with a time of 1:07.48, 13th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.83 and 14th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.30. Junior Gael Carter (Tampa, Fla.) ranks 13th in the 100 back with a time of 59.97 seconds and 25th in the 100 fly with a time of 59.70, while sophomore Annie O'Shea (Washington, D.C.) is 19th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:12.24. On the three meter board, Martinez ranks third with a score of 251.93 and ranks eighth on the one meter board with a score of 222.36.
