WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head softball coach Peter Maneggia have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2007 season, which is set to begin on March 3, when Holy Cross travels to Orlando, Florida, for the Knight Games hosted by the University of Central Florida and Altamonte Sports. The Crusaders are scheduled to face Jacksonville State and Virginia Tech on Saturday and University of Central Florida on Sunday before going into seeded play. Holy Cross will then play in the Rebel Games March 6-9.
Holy Cross returns back north to play at Harvard (March 17) and at Providence (March 21) before going to Maryland for the 5th Annual University of Maryland, Baltimore County Spring Classic in Baltimore (March 24-25). First Holy Cross will face Cleveland Saturday at 8:45 a.m. and then Sacred Heart immediately following. Sunday the Crusaders will take on Niagara at 9:00 a.m. before starting bracket play.
The Crusaders will then face Boston College (March 28) before starting Patriot League play. Holy Cross kicks off Patriot League action when it hosts Colgate (March 31-April 1) in two doubleheaders. After a home non-conference contest versus Central Connecticut (April 3), the Crusaders will host Army (April 7-8) for four games. Holy Cross will then hit the road for ten games with doubleheaders against Lafayette (April 14-April 15), Hartford (April 17) and Lehigh (April 21-22). Holy Cross concludes regular season action with home doubleheaders against Bucknell (April 28-29).
The Patriot League Tournament is scheduled for May 12-13, at a site to be determined.
