Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head softball coach Brian Claypool announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2008 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 16 doubleheaders this season, including seven dates at home on Freshman Field.
The Crusaders will open the season at Kissimmee, Florida (March 1-7). They will then return home to host their first home doubleheader against Harvard (March 15). After this they travel for five road doubleheaders, one at Boston College (March 26), two at Colgate (March 29 and 30) and two at Army (April 5 and 6). The Crusaders bring it home for five doubleheaders, the first two against Lafayette (April 12 and 13), then the University of Hartford (April 15) and the last two against Lehigh (April 19 and 20). Then they hit the road again for three more road doubleheaders, one at Central Connecticut (April 22) and two at Bucknell (April 26 and 27). Their last doubleheader of the season before the Patriot League tournament will be home against Boston College (April 29).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for May 9-10, on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
