Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., and head softball coach Peter Maneggia announced this week the Crusaders' schedule for the 2006 season.
Holy Cross will kick off the season when it travels to Orlando, Fla., on March 4-11, for games against teams that will be announced at a later date. When the Crusaders return they will host Connecticut for a single game on March 29.
The Crusaders then play doubleheaders the rest of the way including when they open Patriot League play at Army on April 1-2. The rest of the Crusaders' Patriot League matchups are home games against Lafayette (Apr. 8-9) and Lehigh (Apr. 15-16), while they hit the road for games against Bucknell (Apr. 22-23) and Colgate (Apr. 29-30).
The rest of the non-conference schedule this year starts off on the road with Boston College (Apr. 6), Siena (Apr. 13) and Rhode Island (Apr. 18), while the Crusaders then host Hartford (Apr. 20). After an away doubleheader at Quinnipiac (Apr. 26), the Crusaders will host Harvard (Apr. 27) and Providence (May 2).
The Patriot League Tournament is slated for May 13-14, at a site to be determined.
