Softball Has 10 Selections To Academic All-League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross softball squad has placed 10 student-athletes on the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by league officials. Leading the Crusaders were senior shortstop Caitlin Deitz (Delmar, N.Y.), senior catcher Rory Ogden (Latham, N.Y.) and sophomore third baseman Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.), who were all selected to the Academic Honor Roll for the second year in a row. Holy Cross' 10 total selections to the Academic Honor Roll were the second most in the conference.
In addition to Dietz, Ogden and Correale, representing the Crusaders were senior outfielder Jayme Elliott (Gardena, Calif.), sophomore pitcher Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.), sophomore outfielder Elizabeth Foley (Charlton, Mass.), sophomore catcher Alyssa Olsen (Shelton, Conn.), freshman pitcher Katie Alexander (Tigard, Ore.), freshman second baseman Erin Fleming (Townsend, Mass.) and freshman outfielder Sam Lenhardt (Duxbury, Mass.).
A total of 50 student-athletes from softball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
