Crusader Softball Places Eight On Academic All-League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - Eight members of the Holy Cross softball team have been selected to the 2006 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office. Leading the Crusaders was senior catcher Heather Johnson (Wrentham, Mass.), who was one of only three players in the conference with a 4.00 grade point average during the spring semester.

Joining Johnson on the Academic Honor Roll were senior pitcher Marsha Babcock (Ridgefield, Conn.), sophomore outfielder Mallory Centonze (Victor, N.Y.), senior third baseman Nicole Dessingue (Schaghticoke, N.Y.), senior outfield Megan Lally (Lake Forest, Calif.), junior pitcher Lindsey MacNeil (Plymouth, N.H.), junior second baseman Beth Richard (Fitchburg, Mass.) and junior outfielder/pitcher Sheena Stangler (Bremerton, Wash.).

A total of 51 student-athletes from softball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester, and be a starter or key reserve on her team.
