Crusaders Prepare For Boston College And Colgate

  • The Holy Cross softball team will host Boston College on Wednesday, April 1 starting at 3:00 p.m. Last season, the Crusaders were swept by the Eagles in the doubleheader, falling 8-4 and 4-3.

  • The Crusaders continue Patriot League action at Freshman Field on Saturday and Sunday, April 4-5, hosting Colgate in the four-game series. Last season, the Crusaders split the four-game series with the Red Raiders, defeating them twice on the second day of the series and preventing Colgate from advancing to the Patriot League tournament. Holy Cross is 2-2 in Patriot League play, while Colgate is 1-3.

  • Sophomore Keeley Seniuk (Phoenix, Ariz.) is fourth in the Patriot League with a .357 batting average. Her three homeruns are fourth in the league and her 41 total bases are also fourth.

  • Junior pitcher Dettey Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) earned both Patriot League wins against Bucknell. Audette pitched 14 complete innings, giving up four earned runs on 11 hits, striking out one Bucknell batter and walking eight. Audette's 2.00 league ERA leads the Patriot League, her .216 league opponent batting average and 2-0 league record also lead the league.

  • The Crusaders are fourth in the nation in stolen bases per game (through March 22) with 2.94. Freshman Gwen Reimer (Pottsville, Pa.) leads the Crusaders with 12 stolen bases and is tied for second in the Patriot League.
