CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Freshman Gwen Reimer (Pottsville, Pa.) stole her 15th base of the season as the Holy Cross softball team was shutout at Harvard, 3-0. With the loss the Crusaders fall to 12-29, while the Crimson improve to 25-14.
Harvard scored one run in the first inning, one in the third and one in the fourth to defeat the Crusaders, 3-0. Freshman Camille Trainor (Worcester, Mass.) and junior Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.) each had a hit for the Crusaders. Junior Melissa Pivonka (Tolland, Conn.) made the start for Holy Cross, pitching two innings and allowing two runs on one hit. Sophomore Katie Alexander (Tigard, Ore.) entered the game in relief, pitching four innings and allowing one run on four hits. Rachel Brown started for Harvard, pitching four complete innings and Julia Moore entered the game in relief.
Holy Cross will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for a Patriot League four-game series with Lehigh on April 25-26. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on both days.
