Holy Cross Softball Drops Two To Army

West Point, N.Y.- The Holy Cross softball team traveled to West Point, N.Y., to take on Army in their first conference doubleheader of the season. The Crusaders dropped game one to Army 10-0 and game two 3-0, falling to 2-15 overall (0-2 Patriot League) while Army improves to 6-26 overall (2-4 Patriot League).
In game one the Crusaders held Army to one run in the first two innings, before the Black Knights scored nine times in the third to pull away for the victory.
Pitching for the Crusaders in game one was Natalie Cruz (Manalapan, N.J.) allowing six hits, nine runs and two walks. Closing the game was Caitlin Belanger (Fall River, Mass.) giving up four hits, one run and one walk.
In game two the Crusaders gave up two runs in the first inning and one more in the third.
Pitching game two for the Crusaders was Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) allowing a total of four hits, three runs and four walks. Closing out the game was Katie Alexander (Tigard, Ore.) giving up one hit to close out the game.
The Crusaders take on Army again tomorrow, April 6, at West Point, N.Y. Start times for game one is 12:00 p.m. and game two 2:00 p.m.
