Nick French is in his fourth season as an assistant softball coach in 2015. He specializes in working with the pitching staff, but plays a key role in all aspects of the softball program.
French joined the Crusaders after spending one year as an assistant coach at Memphis. During his time with the Tigers, French worked closely with the hitters and played a major role in helping Memphis make it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever in 2011. French has coaching in his blood as his father, Marty French, ran the Bay State Blaze Junior Olympic program and Nick began coaching under his father as early as age 14. While in college he was the pitching coach for Abington High School for five years. French was named the interim head coach at Simmons (Mass.) College in 2008 before becoming an assistant coach at Piedmont (Pa.) College. He then served as a volunteer assistant coach with national runner-up Arizona where he assisted with the daily operations of the nationally-ranked program and specifically worked with the outfielders. French coached under eight-time national champion Mike Candrea while at Arizona.
French is a 2005 graduate of Emerson College where he earned his degree in print and multimedia journalism. He played for the basketball team for one season and assisted with the softball program.
