  • The Holy Cross softball team will return to action on Wednesday, April 17, hosting Central Connecticut in a doubleheader at Freshman Field. The Crusaders will then travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for a big Patriot League matchup against Lehigh on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21. The pair of twin bills are scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. both days.
  • Central Connecticut is currently 21-12 on the season and defeated the Crusaders earlier this season (3/27) in a doubleheader in New Britain, Conn. by scores of 2-0 and 8-0. Kat Malcolm leads the Blue Devils with a .425 batting average, recording 48 hits in 113 at-bats in 33 games this season. In the circle, Laura Messina is 16-6 on the year, striking out 161 batters in 157.2 innings of work.
  • Lehigh is 23-14-1 on the season and 9-3 in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks will travel to Princeton on Wednesday before hosting the Crusaders. Morgan Decker leads the team with a  .412 batting average and has a team-high five home runs. Rebecca Bliss has a record of 13-6 and 1.91 earned run average in 20 appearances this season. Bliss has struck out 117 batters in 106.1 innings of work.
  • Freshman Gennifer Durham (Abbeville, S.C.) threw the first recorded seven innings perfect game in Holy Cross history on Saturday (4/13) as the Crusaders defeated Colgate by a score of 1-0. Durham registered seven ground outs, five pop outs, three foul outs, three line outs, two strike outs and one fly out to retire all 21 batters she faced in order. The rookie spoke with after the feat:
  • Freshman Emily Jarvis (Hopkinton, Mass.) continues to lead the team with a .387 batting average in 32 games this season. She leads the Patriot League with 12 runs scored in conference games and is second in stolen bases with seven. Senior Sam Fregenti (Melville, N.Y.) is just behind Jarvis with a .381 batting average in 24 games this year.
  • Durham leads the Patriot League with a 1.27 ERA in six conference appearances. She has allowed eight earned runs in 44.0 innings of work.
