WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head softball coach Brian Claypool has announced a change in this weekend's winter clinic schedule. The Sunday, Feb. 24, session, open to ages 8-17, has been moved up to Saturday, Feb. 23, due to the forecasted winter storm. The two sessions originally scheduled for Saturday will still take place as planned.
Claypool and the rest of the softball staff announced on Jan. 31 that the team will hold three winter clinic sessions for student-athletes ranging from ages 8-17. The first session will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for ages 8-12 and the second session will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for ages 13-17. The third session will be open to ages 8-17, and will now also run on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All three sessions will take place at the Holy Cross Field House in Worcester, Mass.
Holy Cross staff and members of the softball team will be teaching and engaging clinic participants during all three sessions. The 8-12 age group will focus on throwing and fielding fundamentals and the foundations of hitting while the 13-17 age group will focus on throwing, infield and outfield defensive work, base running and hitting mechanics. The rescheduled 8-17 age group session will focus specifically on pitching.
Session prices range from $60-$75 and there are $20-$25 discounts for any immediate family members also attending the clinics. Team discounts are also available.
