WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross softball team has released its 2013 schedule, announced by athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head coach Brian Claypool. The squad will play in 45 total games, starting with the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. March 3-8.
The Crusaders are set to face LaSalle and South Dakota (March 3), Pennsylvania and Tennessee-Martin (March 4), St. Francis (Pa.) and LaSalle (March 6), Grambling State and Niagara (March 7) and St. Francis (Pa.) and Akron (March 8) in the early season tournament.
Patriot League play will begin on March 30-31, with Holy Cross traveling to Lafayette for a pair of doubleheaders. The Crusaders finally open up the home portion of their schedule against conference foe Army at Freshman Field on April 6-7. After a midweek doubleheader at Siena (April 9), the squad will return home to host Colgate (April 13-14) in league play and Central Connecticut (April 17).
The Crusaders will play their final four road contests of the year at Lehigh on April 20-21 in doubleheader format and return to Freshman Field for a twin bill against Marist in the final non-conference action of the season. Bucknell will come to Worcester on April 27-28 for the final two doubleheaders of the regular season. The Patriot League tournament will be held May 9-11 at the site of the regular season champion.
