WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior outfielder Keeley Seniuk (Phoenix, Ariz.) has been named the Patriot League Softball Player of the Week announced today by the league. Seniuk hit safely in all five of the Crusaders' games last week, posting a .500 batting average (10-for-20) with a home run, six RBI and seven runs scored. This is Seniuk's second Player of the Week honor, as she previously received the award during the 2009 season.
After starting the week with a 1-for-3 outing against Bryant, Seniuk went 6-for-10 in the Saturday doubleheader against Army with three RBI and a pair of runs scored. Her offense continued Sunday, as she went 3-for-7 in the second twin-bill. She started the day going 1-for-3, hitting the game-tying home run in the 3-2 loss. The round-tripper was the 16th of her career, breaking the Holy Cross all-time mark. In the second half of Sunday's doubleheader, Seniuk went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a double and three runs scored in the Crusaders' 13-4 win. She is riding an 11-game hitting streak entering the week, with multiple knocks in eight of those contests.
Holy Cross (12-15 overall, 6-2 Patriot League) travels to Harvard on Tuesday, April 12, for a midweek doubleheader before resuming Patriot League action on Saturday-Sunday, April 16-17, with a four-game series against Bucknell.
