  • The Holy Cross softball team continues action at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. with eight games from March 8-12. The Crusaders opened the 2011 season on March 6 with a pair of games.
  • Holy Cross will take the field against Pennsylvania (3-1 overall) for the first time since the 2007 season when it suffered a 4-1 loss to the Quakers at the Rebel Spring Games. Penn opened the 2011 season at the Rebel Spring Games on March 6, falling to Eastern Kentucky and defeating Bryant. On March 7, the Quakers picked up a pair of wins against Robert Morris and Detroit.
  • The Crusaders and the Seahawks (0-7 overall) last met at the 2006 Rebel Spring Games, with Holy Cross coming out on top with a 4-3 win. Wagner opened its season on March 4 at the USF Under Armour Invitational, suffering losses to Radford, Toledo, St. Joseph's, Bethune-Cookman and Central Michigan. Wagner played a pair of games at the Rebel Spring Games on March 7, falling to Loyola and Eastern Kentucky.
  • After a day off, Holy Cross returns to the diamond against Detroit (1-3 overall) on March 10. Holy Cross holds a 1-4 record against the Titans at the Rebel Spring Games since 2007. The Crusaders last defeated Detroit by a score of 3-2 in 2007. The Titans opened the 2011 season at the Rebel Spring Games on March 6, falling to Bryant and defeating Indiana State. On March 7, the Titans suffered losses to Lehigh and Pennsylvania and will play South Dakota and Temple on March 8.
  • Bryant (2-6 overall) opened the season on Feb. 18 at the Texas Tech Tourney, going 1-4. The Bulldogs began play at the Rebel Spring Games on March 6 with a 2-0 victory over Detroit and will play La Salle and Temple on March 8 before taking the field against the Crusaders on March 10.
  • Sacred Heart (2-3 overall) will open play at the Rebel Spring Games on March 8. The Pioneers opened the 2011 season at the Colorado State Classic on March 4 with a 6-5 win over Northern Illinois. The Crusaders will meet up with the Pioneers for the first time since the 2008 season when they suffered two losses to Sacred Heart at the Rebel Spring Games.
  • Temple (3-7 overall) kicks off action at the Rebel Spring Games on March 8 against Bryant. The Owls opened the season at the USF Fairfield Inn & Suites Tampa North Tournament on Feb. 25 and played in the Citrus Classic on March 4-6.
  • Manhattan will open its season on March 11 at the Rebel Spring Games with games against Detroit and Lehigh. Holy Cross last played the Manhattan during the 1996 season at the Gene Cusic Classic, earning a pair of victories over the Jaspers.
  • The Crusaders will close out their spring trip with a game against Yale. The Bulldogs will open their season on March 8 at the Rebel Spring Games against Loyola. Last season, Holy Cross played Yale at the Stony Brook Invitational, falling to the Bulldogs by a score of 5-1.
  • Senior Caitlin Belanger (Fall River, Mass.) was named Patriot League Player of the Week for her performance in the Crusaders season-opening games. Belanger led the team at the plate, going four for seven. The senior pitcher also pitched a complete game against Indiana State. This was the second time that Belanger has earned league honors. The last time she earned the honor was on April 26, 2010 after going eight for 14 at the plate with six RBI.
