Audette & Correale Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Softball Team

WORCESTER, Mass.  – Holy Cross seniors Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) and Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.) have been named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I second team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Correale becomes just the second member of the softball team to earn this honor in back-to-back seasons, while Audette becomes the third Crusader to be named to the team.

Correale, an Economics major with a Pre-Medicine concentration, has a cumulative grade point average of 3.84. Correale has been on the Holy Cross Dean's List seven times and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2009 she was named to the All-Patriot League second team at third base. Correale completed her softball career with 463 at bats, seventh most all-time at Holy Cross, while her 24 career stolen bases rank eighth. She is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board, an organic chemistry tutor and has been a volunteer with Best Buddies since 2006.

Audette, a Religious Studies major, has a cumulative grade point average of 3.39. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2008 and 2009 and has been named to the Dean's List twice. Audette finished her career with 37 stolen bases, which are tied for third all-time at Holy Cross. At Holy Cross, Audette has served as a Student Event Coordinator in the Office of Student Programs & Involvement, head Communion Minister and was a member of Housing Advisory Board.

The Crusaders (14-31, 8-12 Patriot League) concluded the 2010 season with a four-game home stand against Lehigh May 1-2.
