  • The Holy Cross softball team (1-1) continues action at the Rebel Spring Games with seven games this week. The Crusaders play St. Francis (1-4) and Valparaiso (5-3) on Tuesday, March 2, they meet up with Dayton (2-5) and Valparaiso on Wednesday, March 3, play Maine (3-9) and St. Francis on Thursday, March 4 and finish the trip with a game against the University of South Dakota (0-4) on Friday, March. 5.
  • This is the third year in a row that the Crusaders have played against Valparaiso at the Rebel Spring Games. Last year Holy Cross lost to Valparaiso 12-7 before rallying to a 6-3 victory later in the week. In 2008 Holy Cross lost two games to Valparaiso at the Rebel Spring Games.
  • Holy Cross' 9-7 win over Dayton was its second 9-7 season-opening victory in the last two seasons. Holy Cross opened the 2009 season with a 9-7 win over St. Bonaventure. In Holy Cross' last six season-opening games the Crusaders are 3-3.
  • Senior Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) earned her ninth career win in the Crusaders' victory over Dayton and junior Caitlin Belanger (Fall River, Mass.) earned her third career save.
  • The Crusaders stole nine bases in their games against Dayton and Maine. Eight of the bases were stolen against Dayton. Holy Cross finished the 2009 season with 101 stolen bases and five current Crusaders had double-digit steals a year ago.
