Holy Cross Softball Selected Sixth In Patriot League Preseason Poll
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross softball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2010 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Last year's league champion, Lehigh, was picked to finish first with 49 points and 9 first place votes. Colgate was selected second with 36 points and one first place vote, while Bucknell was voted third with 34 points and one first place vote. Lafayette (29), Army (18) and Holy Cross (14) rounded out the remaining three spots.
Holy Cross returns 14 letter winners from last year's team and welcomes five newcomers. The Crusaders finished the 2009 season with a 13-34 overall record, the best since the 2003 season, and junior Keeley Seniuk (Phoenix, Ariz.) and senior Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.) were named to the All-Patriot League second team. The Crusaders kick off the 2010 season at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. on March 1 against Dayton at 1:00 p.m.
