WORCESTER, Mass. -Holy Cross freshman midfielder Katherine Donnelly (Londonderry, N.H.) has been named the Brine Rookie of the week for games played Oct. 20-26. Donnelly scored two goals and had one assist as the Crusaders tied American, 1-1 (2OT), and lost to Navy, 3-2 (2OT), in Patriot League play.
Against American, Donnelly scored the only Crusader goal of the game. At the 56:44 mark, Donnelly scored off the assist by fellow freshman Kelsey Dillon (Barrington, R.I.) giving Holy Cross the temporary lead.
Donnelly scored her eighth goal of the season against Navy on Sunday, Oct. 26, tying her for eighth on the Crusader single-season goals record list. Donnelly's goal came early in the first half, at the 7:41 mark, and was scored off of junior Shelby Stand's (Douglas, Mass.) free kick.
Donnelly currently leads the Crusaders in goals and scoring with eight goals and four assists for 20 points.
The Crusaders will close out the regular season and honor seniors Casey Boland (Langhorne, Pa.) and Tracy Koval (Syracuse, N.Y.) on Saturday, Nov. 1 when they host Lafayette at 2:00 p.m. at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
