Wright Named Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week
Oct. 8, 2007
WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman forward Lauren Wright (Biglerville, Pa.) has been named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Brine Offensive Player of the Week, for her performance in the 2-1 victory over Lehigh in the Patriot League season-opener on October 7 at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. She scored both goals including the game-winner to break a 1-1 tie with 11:02 left in regulation.
Her performance against Lehigh was the second time this season that Wright has scored both of Holy Cross' goals in a 2-1 win as she scored two goals in the 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart on Sept. 14. She was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for that performance.
Wright leads the team in goals with five, points with 10 and game-winning goals with two, while she ranks first in game-winning goals, tied for first in goals and second in points by Patriot League freshmen.
The Crusaders (3-8 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) return to action on Friday, October 12, when they host Bucknell in a Patriot League game at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
