WORCESTER, Mass. -Holy Cross sophomore forward Lauren Wright (Biglerville, Pa.) has been named the Brine Offensive Player of the week for games played Sept. 29-Oct. 5. Wright scored two goals as the Crusaders shutout Lehigh 3-0 in the Patriot League season opener. This is the second time in Wright's career that she has received this honor.
At Lehigh, Wright led the Crusaders to their first conference win of the season. She scored her first goal of the contest at the 16:40 mark to give Holy Cross the lead. Wright then put the game out of reach for Lehigh when she scored her second goal of the night in the closing minutes of the second half. This was Wright's first multiple goal game of the season.
Wright currently has three goals for the season and is third in scoring for the Crusaders. She now has eight career goals and one career assist giving her a career total 17 points.
Holy Cross is home at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Monday October 6 for a 7:00 pm non-conference match up with Manhattan.
