Crusaders Set To Play Three Games In Six Days This Week

WOMEN'S SOCCER Holy Cross will play a pair of road games and one home contest this week. The Crusaders first travel to Brown for a 7:00 p.m. contest on
Wednesday, Oct. 1. Holy Cross will then head to Lehigh for its Patriot League opener on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 4:30 p.m. The Crusaders return home to face Manhattan on Monday, Oct. 6, at 7:00 p.m.
The Crusaders played just one game last week, falling to Siena 3-2. Holy Cross scored two unanswered goals after trailing 3-
0 in the second half, but saw its comeback effort fall just short.
Junior forward Shelby Stand (Douglas, Mass.) scored both of Holy Cross' goals against Siena last week. She netted her first
goal at the 87:53-mark, and then added another goal on a penalty kick less than two minutes later. Stand now leads the team
in scoring this season with 11 points on four goals and three assists. Over the course of her Holy Cross career, she has
recorded nine goals and five assists for 23 points.
Freshman midfielder Katherine Donnelly (Londonderry, N.H.) picked up an assist during the Siena, and has now either
scored or assisted on six of the Crusaders' last eight goals. Her top game of the season came on Sept. 21 at Wagner, when she
scored two goals including the game-winner. On the season, Donnelly now ranks second on the team in scoring with 10
points on four goals and two assists.
Junior goalkeeper Jessica Stone (Rockville, Md.) earned her first victory of the season against Wagner on Sept. 21, making
four saves while allowing just one goal. Earlier in the season, she made a career-high 13 saves against Central Connecticut,
and posted 11 saves at Fairfield. On the year, Stone now has a 2.30 goals against average and a .724 save percentage.
