WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Stone (Rockville, Md.) has been named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, for her performance in the season-opening 3-0 victory at Albany on September 2. She made seven saves and allowed no goals in the first half to earn her first win of the season. This is the first time she has received this award.
Last season, Stone played in 11 games with five starts as she led all Patriot League freshmen in saves per game (5.00). She had a 1.93 goals against average with 55 saves and a 2-2 record.
The Crusaders (1-0) return to action on Wednesday, September 5, when they will travel to Durham, N.H. to face New Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. Holy Cross will then host Central Connecticut for the home-opener at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.
