Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's soccer was defeated by Lehigh, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the Hart Soccer Field in a Patriot League conference game.
With the win the Mountain Hawks improve to 11-6 overall and 5-2 in the league, while the Crusaders fall to 3-12 overall and 2-4 in the league.
Lehigh scored twice in the first period. Sophomore Gina Lewandowski (Coopersburg, Pa.) tucked the ball around Holy Cross' goalkeeper Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass) at 16:17 into the match.
Sophomore Karilyn Anderson (Brookefield, Conn.) used a corner kick to her advantage, dipping the ball to Lewandowski for her second goal of the match in the 25:57.
With three minutes left in the game, freshman Melissa Montalvo (Cranford, N.J.) found the back of the net off a corner kick from Jocelyn Helwig (Wescoville, Pa.).
Pietrowicz stopped five shots, while senior Erin Iwaskiewicz (Princeton Junction, N.J.) keep the Crusaders scoreless, halting six shots.
Holy Cross defends the Hart Soccer Field once last time this season on Monday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Army at 2 p.m. in a Patriot League game.
