Holy Cross Shuts Out Siena

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team notched their first win of the season when it shutout Siena College , 1-0, on Sunday afternoon, at Hart Field, for their first win of the season.

KatherineBrower ( South Windsor , Conn. ) scored her first collegiate goal in the second half with an assist by senior Eileen Tetrault ( Danielson , Conn. ) at 64:55.

Holy Cross keepers Eileen Geoghegan ( Merrimac , Mass. ) and Jessica Pietrowicz ( Worcester , Mass. ) shared the shutout against the Saints, each defending a half. Geoghegan registered three saves in the first half, while Pietrowicz saved two shots in the second.

Leading Holy Cross was freshman Lauren Pereira ( Ludlow , Mass. ) ,who had a game high of three shots on goal and sophomore Meredith Davis ( Worcester , Mass. ) , who had two shots on goal.

The Crusaders have a week off before traveling to Rhode Island to take on Providence College on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m.
