Women's Soccer Defeated By Colgate, 4-0

Worcester, Mass.- The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Colgate, 4-0, in Patriot League action, on Friday afternoon at Hart Soccer Field. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-13 overall (1-4 PL), while the Raiders improve to 10-4-1 overall (4-1 PL).
Colgate scored the lone goal of the first half at the 42:16 mark when Marissa Akason sent a long ball into the box and Carolyn Warhaftig passed it to Brittney Putnam who shot the ball into the lower left of the net.
Six minutes into the second half Colgate's Franny Iacuzzi scored off a cross from Jaime Dennison. Iacuzzi increased the lead to 3-0 at 56:50, when she scored her second goal of the game from a through ball by Warhaftig. Colgate ended the scoring at the 86:12 mark when Sachi Brown passed it to Brittany Pearsall who shot it towards the goal reflecting off a defender and going into the net.
Colgate out shot Holy Cross, 13-11. Sophomore goalie Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) made four saves, while Colgate's Luisa Miller stopped three shots for the win.
The Crusaders return to action when they host Bucknell at Hart Soccer Field on Sunday, October 23, at 1:00 p.m.
