HAMILTON, N.Y. - Junior forward Alison Peters (Bolton, Mass.) scored her second goal of the season for the Crusaders, but it was not enough as Colgate scored one goal in the first half and another in the second to edge Holy Cross 2-1 in conference play Friday.
Peters scored unassisted to put the Crusaders on the board first at 27:13. Less than two minutes later Colgate retaliated with a goal to knot the game at one.
The score remained tied until 43:10 when Colgate's Liz Polido scored the game winning goal off a double assist from Kathleen Head and Franny Iacuzzi.
Holy Cross falls to 4-12-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference while Colgate improves to 10-5 on the season and 2-3 in league play.
The Crusaders are back on the road to face Bucknell in conference play Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
