Oct. 17, 2008
WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore goalkeeper Mary Ferketic (West Hartford, Conn.) had four saves in her second start of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Holy Cross women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Army in Patriot League play at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium Friday night. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-12 (1-3 Patriot League) while the Black Knights improve to 11-4 (4-0 Patriot League).
Less than four minutes into the second half, at the 48:50 mark, Army's Sarah Goss converted a penalty kick opportunity, making a shot into the low left corner of the goal for the game-winner.
The Black Knights' Alex Lostetter (9-4-0) made seven stops and earned her seventh shutout of the season.
The Crusaders return to action on Monday, October 20, when they host Harvard for a game scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
