Holy Cross Women's Soccer Defeated By Navy, 4-0

Annapolis, Md.- The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Navy, 4-0, in Patriot League action, on Sunday at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility, in Annapolis, Md. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-11 overall (0-3 PL), while the Mids improve to 8-4-2 overall (1-2 PL).
Navy got on the board at the 13:51 mark when Heather Thomas scored off a pass from Molly Burd. Just over five minutes later the Mids increased their lead when Kristen Laraway headed the ball, then Iris Boivin flicked it to Maggie Curran who fired in a shot from 15 yards out. Navy scored the third goal of the half at the 39:30 mark when Laraway scored a goal off a pass from Sam Schroth.
Navy scored the only goal of the second half at the 72:46 mark when Katie Traster blasted in a shot from 30 yards out with an assist given to Elise McCaskey. Holy Cross sophomore goalie Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) made three saves, while Navy goalies Haley Crain stopped three shots and Lizzie Barnes made one save. Navy out shot Holy Cross, 23-10.
The Crusaders return to action when they host Harvard at Hart Soccer Field on Wednesday, October 12, at 3:00 p.m.
