Women's Soccer Falls To Maine, 5-1

Worcester, Mass. - Veronique Fleury and Laura Martel scored their first two collegiate goals as Maine defeated Holy Cross 5-1, Saturday at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium.
Freshmen midfielder, Fleurry scored the first goal of the game and the first of her collegiate career just over 20 minutes into the game. Less than ten minutes later, freshman forward, Martel also put away her first goal as a Black Bear.
In the second half, Fleurry and Martel both scored again from junior forward, Laura Harper. Harper also added a goal on a penalty kick.
Shelby Stand scored the only Crusader goal of the game and her second goal of the season.
Jessica Pietrowicz made seven saves on 13 shots for the Crusaders.
Maine improves to 4-0-1 while Holy Cross falls to 0-4-1 overall.
Holy Cross will host Albany, Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium.
