  • This week, the Crusaders head to Staten Island, N.Y. to take on Wagner on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 3:00 p.m. Holy Cross holds a 3-1-0 overall record versus Wagner as it defeated the Seahawks, 4-1 last season on Aug. 19 in Worcester, Mass. Wagner is 2-0 on the young season with a pair of wins versus Saint Peter's (3-1) and Fairfield, (2-1).
  • Last week, Holy Cross opened up the 2013 regular season with a tough-fought 1-0 overtime loss at Maine on Friday, Aug 23. The game-winning goal by the Black Bears came 26 seconds into the overtime period.
  • In the contest versus Maine, junior goalkeeper Carly McCabe (Barrington, R.I.) played excellent, as she made seven saves in the game including five in the first half to keep the score knotted at 0-0. After one game, McCabe leads the Patriot League with 7.0 saves per game and is second in total saves.
  • Holy Cross was picked to finish in a tie for eighth in the Patriot League Women's Soccer Preseason Poll with 47 points. New Patriot League member Boston University was voted to finish in first place with 152 points, while 2012 runner up Navy (144 points; four first place votes) and defending champion Colgate (138 points; four first place votes) round out the top three.
