WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman forward Annie Galvin (Attleboro, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from August 20-26. Galvin scored the first goal of her collegiate career, while helping the Holy Cross women's soccer team to a 1-1 double overtime tie against Providence.
During Friday night's contest with the Friars, Galvin gave Holy Cross a 1-0 lead just 4:04 into the first half. She received a pass along the six yard line from sophomore midfielder Gina Righini (Salem, N.H.) and buried the ball in the top right corner of the net for her first goal as a Crusader.
On the season, Galvin is currently tied for third on the team in scoring with two points on one goal.
The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, Aug. 30, when they travel to Bryant for a 4:00 p.m. game.
