WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head women's soccer coach Darren Gallagher have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2011 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 18 games during the regular season, including eight at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
The Crusaders open the 2011 season on their home turf with a game against Hartford on Aug. 25 at 7:00 p.m. Holy Cross travels to Providence (Aug. 31) before hosting Maine on Sept. 6. The Crusaders will compete in the Fairfield Classic on Sept. 9 & 11, taking on Central Connecticut State on Friday and Fairfield on Sunday. Holy Cross will host Bryant (Sept. 14), travel to Quinnipiac (Sept. 18) and New Hampshire (Sept. 21), host Vermont (Sept. 23) and wrap up the month on the road at Rider (Sept. 25).
October will showcase seven Patriot League games. Holy Cross opens the league season on the road at Army (Oct. 2) before hosting Bucknell (Oct. 7) and Colgate (Oct. 9). The Crusaders travel to Lafayette on Oct. 15 before hosting Brown in their only non-league game of the month on Oct. 18. Road games follow at American (Oct. 21) and Navy (Oct. 23), before the Crusaders conclude the regular season at home against Lehigh on Oct. 29.
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 4 & 6 on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
