Holy Cross Womens Soccer Suffers 2-0 Loss At Colgate
HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate's Calista Victor and Jillian Kinter each scored a goal to lead the Raiders to a 2-0 victory over the Holy Cross women's soccer team Friday night in Patriot League action in Hamilton, N.Y. With the win, Colgate improves to 6-10-0 (3-2 Patriot League), while the Crusaders fall to 3-10-2 (0-4-1 Patriot League).
Victor scored the first goal of the game at the 30:37 mark in the first half off a shot from in the box. Kinter put the Raiders up 2-0 in the 66th minute when she beat Holy Cross freshman keeper Ashlyn Angell (Raleigh, N.C.) to score the goal.
Senior net minder, Mary Ferketic (West Hartford, Conn.) minded the goal for the first 45 minutes of action, allowing one goal and making two saves on six Colgate shots. Angell guarded the goal for the second half, allowing one goal and recording two saves on seven Colgate shots. The Raiders out shot the Crusaders 13-10 and put six shots on frame, while Holy Cross recorded four.
The Crusaders continue Patriot League action away from Worcester when they travel to Bucknell on Sunday, Oct. 24 for their sixth league game of the year. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. at Bucknell's Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.
