Holy Cross Women’s Soccer Falls To Lehigh, 3-0, In League Play

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Holy Cross women's soccer team was unable to score a goal, falling 3-0 at Lehigh Saturday afternoon in Patriot League play. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-8-2 overall (0-3-1 Patriot League), while the Mountain Hawks improve to 8-3-2 (3-1-0 Patriot League).

Despite recording just five shots in the first 45 minutes, Lehigh scored two goals in the first half of play, one at the 21:19 mark and the second coming at 42:10. In the second half of action, the Mountain Hawks recorded 12 shots, one for a goal, holding Holy Cross to just three in the half and eight total. Lehigh's final goal at the 77:48 mark secured the 3-0 win for the Mountain Hawks.

Sophomore goaltender Ashlyn Angell (Raleigh, N.C.) suffered the loss in goal, allowing three goals and recording six saves. Lehigh goaltender Lauren Mains held the Crusaders scoreless while recording three saves.

The Crusaders look to return to their winning ways on the road against non-league opponent Yale on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m.
