Crusaders Look To Win At Bryant On Wednesday

  • The Holy Cross women's soccer team (2-3-0 overall) travels to Smithfield, R.I. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 for a 7:00 p.m. game against Bryant (2-4-0). This will be the two team's fourth meeting and first as Division I programs. The Crusaders and the Bulldogs last met on Oct. 9, 1986 in Smithfield, R.I. with the Crusaders coming out on top 4-0. Holy Cross is 2-1 all-time against Bryant.
  • This season, the Bulldogs earned two overtime victories over NJIT and St. Peter's to give them their two wins, while they have suffered losses to Fairfield, Northeastern, Lafayette and Providence. Holy Cross will play common-opponent Lafayette on Oct. 2 in its Patriot League season-opener.
  • Senior Shelby Stand (Douglas, Mass.) scored two goals against Quinnipiac to double her goal count for the year and bring her to 10 points. Stand ranks second in the league in points and is tied for second in goals (4). Stand's 2.0 points per game leads the league and ranks 18th in the Division I National Rankings.
  • Freshman Gaby Ransom (Concord, N.H.) recorded her first career assist against Quinnipiac. Ransom is third on the team with three points and is the leading rookie scorer for the Crusaders.
