WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head women's soccer coach Darren Gallagher have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2010 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 17 games this season, including nine home contests at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
Holy Cross will open the season at home against Rhode Island on August 27 before hitting the road to face off with Central Connecticut State (Aug. 31) and will then return home to battle New Hampshire (Sept. 3). The Crusaders will then head to Staten Island for a Sunday afternoon game against Wagner (Sept. 5). Holy Cross will return home for a quiet week before another Sunday game, this time facing Quinnipiac at home (Sept. 12), followed by a match at Bryant (Sept. 15). The Crusaders return to Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium the following week for games against Siena (Sept. 24) and Rider (Sept. 26)
The Crusaders open up Patriot League action at home, facing off against Lafayette (Oct. 2), followed by an out of league match at Brown (Oct. 5) and then back to Worcester and Patriot League soccer to battle American (Oct. 8) and Navy (Oct. 10). The following week, Holy Cross embarks on a four-game road trip, taking on Lehigh (Oct. 16), out of league opponent Yale (Oct. 19), defending Patriot League champion Colgate (Oct. 22) and Bucknell (Oct. 24) The Crusaders will return home to close out the regular season against Army (Oct. 29).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 5 & 7, on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
