WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior defender Chelsi Pugliese (Pembroke, Mass.) has been named the BRINE Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for games played the week of Sept. 14-Sept. 20. This is the first time that Pugliese has received this honor.
Pugliese scored her first career goal in the 6-0 victory over Wagner on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. Pugliese scored the second Crusader goal of the game at the 15:18 mark on a pass from sophomore Katherine Donnelly (Londonderry, N.H.).
Holy Cross (4-3-1 overall) returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 24, traveling to New Hampshire for a 7:00 p.m. game. The Crusaders open up Patriot League action on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Lafayette.
