Shelby Stand Named Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior forward Shelby Stand (Douglas, Mass.) has been named the BRINE Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for games played the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 6. This is the first time that Stand has received this honor.

Stand scored two goals in her season debut to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 win over Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 4. Her two goals gives her 14 career goals and ties her for ninth on the Holy Cross career goals scored list. Her 35 career points also ties her for ninth on the Holy Cross career points scored list.

The Holy Cross women's soccer team returns to Worcester, Mass. on Wednesday, Sept. 9 to host Providence at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 7:00 p.m. The Crusaders open Patriot League play on Oct. 3 at Lafayette.
