Crusaders Hit The Road, Travel To Manhattan And Boston College

  • The Crusaders (1-0 overall) will travel to Manhattan (1-1 overall) on Friday, Sept. 4 to take on the Jaspers. Last season, Holy Cross defeated Manhattan 2-0 at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium. Junior Lauren Wright (Biglerville, Pa.) and senior Shelby Stand (Douglas, Mass.) each scored for the Crusaders. This will be the fourth meeting between the Crusaders and the Jaspers in the last four years. Manhattan holds a 2-1 edge over Holy Cross in that time.
  • Holy Cross will conclude weekend competition on Sunday, Sept. 6 when it travels to Boston College. The Crusaders last matched up with the Eagles in 2006 in Worcester, Mass., falling to Boston College 8-0.
  • Senior Paige Harrison (Sutton, Mass.) received honorable mention from the Patriot League and was named AT&T Crusader of the Week for her performance against UMass. Harrison recorded the first Holy Cross goal of the season in the Crusaders' victory over the Minutewomen. Harrison's goal proved to be the game winner.
  • The Holy Cross women's soccer team opened the season with a 2-0 win over Massachusetts on Friday, Aug. 28. The Crusaders defeated the Minutewomen for the first time in school history. Holy Cross first played UMass in 1986 and is currently 1-7-0 all time against the Minutewomen.
