WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. and head women's soccer coach Darren Gallagher have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2009 season. Holy Cross is scheduled to play a total of 19 games this season, including 10 home contests at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
Holy Cross will open the season at home against Massachusetts on August 28 before hitting the road to face off with Manhattan (Sept. 4) and Boston College (Sept. 6). The Crusaders will return to Worcester for a mid-week game against Providence (Sept. 9) and a Friday night game against Central Connecticut State (Sept. 11) before traveling to Siena (Sept. 13). Holy Cross will host Wagner (Sept. 15) and Fairfield (Sept. 18) and then close out the month on the road at New Hampshire (Sept. 24) and Harvard (Sept. 29).
The Crusaders open up Patriot League action on the road, traveling to Lafayette (Oct. 3), American (Oct. 9) and Navy (Oct. 11). Holy Cross returns to the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium for a five-game home stand, hosting Yale (Oct. 14), Lehigh (Oct. 17), Brown (Oct. 20), Colgate (Oct. 22) and Bucknell (Oct. 25). Holy Cross will close out the regular season at Army (Oct. 31).
The Patriot League Tournament is set for Nov. 6 & 8, on the campus of the regular season champion. The top four teams in the final regular season standings will take part in the tournament.
