Fifteen Rowers Earn Academic All-League Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team placed 15 student-athletes on the 2005 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by league officials today. The 15 Crusaders were among a group of 63 rowers from around the conference named to the honor roll.
Holy Cross was led by four seniors, in Lauren D'Angelo (Assonet, Mass.), Maura Droney (West Hartford, Conn.), Kate Freeman (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Krista Yarashefski (Highland Falls, N.Y.). Also selected to the squad were juniors Karin Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Abby Talcott (Manhasset, N.Y.); sophomores Nora Blumenstein (Haddon Township, N.J.), Caitlin Duignan (Gaithersburgh, Md.), Maura Hume (Clifton Park, N.Y.), Allison Humphreys (Marlton, N.J.), Elizabeth Rhatigan (Floral Park, N.Y.) and Megan Russell (Andover, Mass.); and freshmen Alexandra Dempsey (Winter Park, Fla.), Courtney Hakanson (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Valerie Jackson (East Lyme, Conn.).
To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the League's six winter or 10 spring championship sports.
