Humphreys Named to All-Patriot League Rowing Team
May 3, 2007
Worcester, Mass. - Senior rower Allison Humphreys (Marlton, N.J.) was named to the 2007 All-Patriot League Rowing Team, as announced Thursday afternoon. The honor marks the first time that Humphreys has been recognized by the Patriot League and comes after a fifth place finish by the Holy Cross women's varsity eight in the Patriot League Championship this past weekend. The Crusaders ended the championship in a tie with Lehigh for fourth place with 10 points overall.
Humphreys, a four-year letter winner for Holy Cross and a captain this season, was the only Crusader honored by the Patriot League. Bucknell had four representatives on the All-Patriot League Team. Navy had three rowers on the list, Colgate had two and Lehigh also had one rower named. The All-Patriot League Team is made up of 11 student-athletes, with at least one representative from each school, and is based on how each school finished at the championship.
The Holy Cross women's rowing team will compete in the ECAC Metro Cup Championship on Saturday, May 5 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. Races are scheduled to start at 7:00 am.
