Women's Rowing Starts Out Strong at New Hampshire Championships

Manchester, N.H. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team started out their fall schedule strong finish in the women's eight open Saturday in at the New Hampshire Championship Regatta in Manchester N.H. The team tied for first in the race with a team from Vermont. The Varsity Eight compiled of senior Megan Russell (Andover, Mass.), juniors Erika Furtado (Dayton, Maine), Valerie Jackson (East Lyme, Conn.), Meghan Quinn (Philadelphia, Pa.), sophomores Clare Bracikowski (Nashville, Tenn.) Johanna Cubelli (Boonton Township, N.J.), Elisabeth Flaherty (Lincolnwood, Ill.), Maura Hogan (Holliston, Mass.) and junior coxswain Katie Donnelly (Marstons Mills, Mass.). Both the Crusaders and Vermont finished the race in 16:22

The Crusader's second entry in the race was team made up of seniors Allison Humphreys (Marlton, N.J.), Delia Rissmiller (Belmont, Mass.), juniors Allison Kaufman (North Port, N.Y.), Christine Repoli (Marlboro, N.J.), sophomores Beth McNaught (Asan, Guam), Kelly St. Germain (Cambridge, Mass.), freshman Mara Piltin (Medford, N.J.), Ashley Fish (Hingham, Mass.) and junior coxswain Victoria Vergara (Newton, N.J.). The Holy Cross team finished eighth of 22 teams with a time of 16:51.

The Crusaders are back on the water at the nationally known Head of the Charles races in Boston Mass. on Saturday and Sunday October 21 and 22. Races are scheduled to begin at 8:00AM.
