WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's and women's rowing teams opened their fall seasons hosting the Snake Regatta on Sunday afternoon at Lake Quinsigamond. The women competed against Bates, Clark, Connecticut, Colby, Tufts, Wellesley, and WPI in the open eight race and Assumption, Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Franklin Pierce, Mass Maritime, Turfts, and WPI in the women's open four. The men's team faced Bates, Colby, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Tufts, and WPI in the open eight race.
In the open eight race, the men's team A boat placed second with a time of 13:21.201, followed by the WPI A boat (13:17.987. The Crusader B boat finished seventh (14:14.859) and the C boat placed 15th (15:07.152).
The Holy Cross women's open eight A boat finished second with a time of 15:22.232, behind the Bates A boat (14:46.376). The Crusaders' B boat placed seventh with a time of 16:42.854 and the C boat finished in 12th place with a time of 17:03.901. The women's open four boat placed third in their race with a time of 17:23.896, behind WPI (17:10.378) who placed first followed by Connecticut College (17:16.360).
The Crusaders return to action next weekend, October 18-19, competing in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston.
