Women's Rowing Competes At ECAC Cup

WORCESTER, Mass - The Holy Cross women's rowing team competed in the ECAC Metro Championship at Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday morning. The Crusaders took 13th overall based on the efforts of their varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four crews.
Due to illnesses on the team the novice eight and second novice eight crews were scratched and the lineups were bumped up one level to compensate.
The varsity eight crew finished sixth in their first heat with a time of 7:15.96 and later went on to also take sixth in the petite final with at time of 8:22.50.
In the varsity four petite final, the Holy Cross boat took fifth with a time of 8:59.17 after qualifying with a heat time of 8:12.12.
The women's second varsity eight crew finished sixth in the petite final with a time of 8:10.90. In the heat qualifying, the second varsity eight boat took fourth overall with a time of 7:06.99.
Tomorrow beginning at 8:00 a.m. the men's and women's rowing teams will both compete in the New England Rowing Championships at Lake Quinsigamond.
