Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team competed in the ECAC Metro Cup Championship on Saturday, May 5 on Lake Quinsigamond against URI, UMass, Buffalo, Villanova, Delaware, Bucknell, Colgate, and Marist.
The varsity four boat raced in the first heat and came in fourth place with a time of 8:09.074. Bucknell was first with a time of 7:34.614, Buffalo was next at 7:41.272, URI came in third at 8:01.614, and UMass closed out the race at 8:28.66. Holy Cross came in first place in the Petite Final with a time of 8:14.113. Villanova and UMass followed with times of 8:23.674 and 8:26.503, respectively. The Crusaders scratched and did not compete in both the varsity eight and second varsity eight events.
Holy Cross came in ninth place for the day. The women's rowing team is back in action on Sunday, May 6 to compete in the New England Championship, which they are hosting in Worcester, Massachusetts.
