WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team hosted Boston College and Buffalo at Lake Quinnsigamond on Saturday afternoon. Buffalo swept the regatta, winning the varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity eight races.
In the second varsity eight, Buffalo recorded a time of 7:43, followed by Holy Cross' boat of Laura LeBourdais, Kelly St. Germain, Mara Piltin, Odet Douglass, Maura Hogan, Jacqueline Esperti, Katherine Byrns, Meridith Malysz and Malgorzata Smas (7:46), Boston College (7:48) and the Buffalo B boat (7:58).
Buffalo finished the varsity eight with a first-place time of 7:07, followed by Boston College with a time of 7:20 and the Crusaders' boat of Katie Donnelly, Monika Mangsen, Lis Flaherty, Johanna Cubelli, Abby Hammond, Meaghan Pedlow, Bethany Charron, Clare Bracikowski and Nicole Gabana with a time of 7:24.
In the varsity four race, Buffalo placed first with a time of 8:53 while Holy Cross' boat of Amanda Woodgate, Jackie Jankowski, Mary Kate Cullen, Jennifer Beaudoin and Jessica Ripp recorded a second-place time of 8:58.
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, April 26, competing in the Patriot League Championships in Camden, N.J.
