Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross placed third overall with 17 points at the Patriot League Women's Rowing Championship held Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond.
Holy Cross' Varsity Four boat was the top-finisher for the Crusaders, placing second with a time of 10:07.9, to first-place Navy. The boat finished 4.6 seconds ahead of third-place Bucknell.
Placing third with a time of 8:38.12 was the Crusaders' Varsity Eight boat. Holy Cross finished behind Navy and Colgate and beating Bucknell and Lehigh.
The Crusaders' Second Varsity Eight crew came in fourth, gliding across the finish line with a time of 9:46.54.
The Crusaders finished behind regatta-winner Navy, that tallied 30 points and second-place Colgate, that closed with 22 points. Placing fourth was Bucknell with 15 points, while Lehigh posted six. Navy's Mike Hughes was named Patriot League Coach of the Year, while the Midshipmen's Varsity Eight boat received Boat of the Year honors.
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, May 1 in the New England Championships on Lake Quinsigamond.
